Renee maskin

Renee Maskin is a singer-songwriter from the vibrant music city of Asbury Park, NJ. She combines earthy traditional song craft with synthy ambient textures, a sound that’s both familiar and unconventional.

Having cut her teeth in bands over the past several decades, Maskin's solo debut Swimming was recorded in 2020 as a result of the pandemic lockdown. UK's The Rodeo hailed it as "indie-folk at its finest". Her follow-up 2023 LP with The Mysterious Wilds featuring Mike Noordzy and Ben Ross debuted at #1 on NACC Folk. She rounds out the year with another LP, "Shimmer" with Maskin back in the producer chair.

Maskin's unique sound has brought her to support wide ranging acts, from Tyler Ramsey, to William Tyler, to Jon Langford, to Del Amitri. Maskin formerly fronted indie-rock group Lowlight, a run that included four acclaimed studio albums and a tour opening for Pretenders. Before then, she played in bands ranging from prog-punk to alt-country to somber folk. She signed to Mint 400 Records in 2021.
